This Annual Report gives an overview of the activities carried out by IT Services during the 2013/14 reporting year (1 August to 31 July). It is organised into three sections with the intention of making it accessible to readers who want to find out information about a particular activity during 2013/14. The three sections are:
- Projects and Programmes
- Services and Teams
- The Office of the CIO.
The Office of the CIO encompasses all the teams who support the department and report to the CIO:
- IT Risk Management – including Information Security
- Projects and Services Office
- Information Strategy and Research Facilitation
- Administration – Estates, Finance and Purchasing, HR
- Communications and Web Office.
One of the purposes of collecting information in an annual report is to make possible a long-term overview of developments in the IT provided centrally for the University and to enable comparisons over time. Although last year saw the first annual report from IT Services (which was formed in 2012), the previous Computing Services department (OUCS) prepared annual reports for many years (see the Reports section).
