Our Educational Media team are launching a few small initiatives regarding audio-visual (AV) support and collaboration across the University. These will be of interest to any staff working with AV equipment, supporting lecture rooms or involved in the design or refurbishment of lecture rooms at the University.
A mailing list dedicated to supporting the use of AV technology at Oxford in now available at email@example.com. Subscribe by sending a blank message to firstname.lastname@example.org. Full instructions are here: https://web.maillist.ox.ac.uk/ox/help/user#subscribe
2. AV SIG
The team are launching an AV SIG (special interest group) which will hold a termly meeting to discuss AV matters across the collegiate University along with demonstrations from suppliers. The AV SIG will be introduced at the Panasonic supplier demo (see details below).
3. Supplier demos
The first of these will be with Panasonic on 24 May 10:30-12:30 at the Manor Road Social Sciences building. Panasonic will be demonstrating their latest education-focused technology, including lower-cost PTZ cameras with Panopto integration over IP and face/motion tracking software. Also in attendance will be Panasonic’s engineers tasked with supporting education-focused products, so it’s a great opportunity to provide direct feedback.
Email email@example.com if you are interested in attending.
We hope to organise future sessions with control panel providers such as Crestron, Extron and AMX. Suggestions via firstname.lastname@example.org for additional suppliers would be welcome.
