MATLAB site license

The University has signed a Mathworks Campus TAH (Total Academic Headcount) agreement giving a site license for MATLAB and all of the toolboxes currently used within the University. The full list of available toolboxes is provided below.

This covers the provision of MATLAB to all students, staff and academics of the collegiate University on university and personal computers, under Windows, Linux or OS/X.

The site license replaces the existing arrangements in which we have a Student TAH license, a central concurrent license server, a group of standalone licenses, and a number of teaching lab licenses.  The existing licenses will be put into “storage".  If the TAH license is not renewed at some point in the future, then the old licenses would come out of storage and we would resume as we
are now.

The new TAH license is effective immediately, but it will take a few days to organise the transition from the current arrangements.  Some users may receive warnings about their licenses having expired, or been put into storage.  We believe that these warnings can be safely ignored for the time being, and users can switch later to the new license.

We expect that by the end of next week, August 8th, all students and users with standalone licenses will be able to download a new Activation Key and installation/activation instructions from
https://register.it.ox.ac.uk/self/software after logging in through SSO.  A further email will be sent then.

Note that the new TAH license does not cover use for commercial purposes; the four groups in the university with commercial licenses must continue to use those licenses.
