WebLearn gets WISE

News publication date:
Friday, 24 July 2015

The WebLearn* Improved Student Experience (WISE) project is helping departments and faculties to fast-track the development and improvement of their WebLearn presence. The 18-month project (running until November 2016) aims to increase the uptake and optimise the use of WebLearn in order to provide an efficient and satisfying experience for students and staff alike.

To deliver the project the WebLearn team has been augmented by two new learning technologists, Steve Burholt and Xavier Laurent. So far the team has recruited 16 units from the University’s four main divisions, the Department for Continuing Education and Mansfield College. It is on course to launch the redeveloped sites of at least four units in Michaelmas Term.

As part of WISE, the WebLearn team will be fostering a community of WISE ‘champions’ and hosting a number of events to engage academic and administrative staff. In addition, they will be facilitating a programme of induction sessions for the students who will be using the new and upgraded sites.
