NSMS is a team of IT professionals who work within Oxford University to provide IT services to University departments, colleges and associated institutions.

We offer a wide range of chargeable IT services that can bridge the gap between what you want to achieve and what your time and resources allow. As a small team we have the flexibility to act quickly. 

We can help where you don’t have your own IT support, or where you need specific services that you can’t provide in-house.

Who we are

We're part of the IT Services department at Oxford University. Most people throughout the University know us simply as NSMS, but (in case you were wondering) it stands for Network System Management Service.

The NSMS team has been put together to ensure that we are able to offer our customers a wide range of skills and expertise. The skill sets of the people within the team overlap so there is always cover regardless of any absences.

Our technical knowledge covers a wide range of software and hardware, and we also offer back office skills such as project management and financial control.

Who can use our services

Our services are aimed specifically at departments (which may or may not have an IT officer), colleges, associated institutions and any member of the University in need of specific IT services. We cannot offer services to organisations outside Oxford University.

We also offer first-line support, on an ad hoc basic, for departments who do not have their own IT support officer. Please note that this service does not follow our standard SLA, and is by negotiation.
