Content from the IT Services, IT Help, IT Skills, and IT Programmes and Projects websites (built in Mosaic) is now available on the University’s new digital platforms, OxIntranet (the university-wide intranet) and Oxweb (the main website for the University). The old websites will soon be decommissioned.
What's changed?
In line with the University’s content strategy, public-facing information, including how to get IT help and Getting started content for new staff and students, is available on the University website, Oxweb. This is for users who are unable to access University systems or are accessing our content from outside the University.
Internal information for staff and students sits behind Single Sign-On (SSO) on OxIntranet. You will find the majority of IT support and service information in the For Staff > IT and Digital area.
What do you need to do?
The old Mosaic sites will soon be retired, so you should now update any links you maintain to the migrated content (e.g. in documents, automated workflows or other digital content). A list of updated links for our IT Services sites is available to support you.
To help minimise service disruption, these legacy sites will remain available alongside the new sites until 24 June, providing a short buffer period.
Finding your way around
As far as possible, IT content has been migrated like-for-like to provide a familiar experience and to minimise disruption, so navigating between pages should feel intuitive. You will find some new content and in some areas, content has been refreshed and consolidated.
To help you navigate both our IT content and the wider platform, OxIntranet now features an AI search agent. This tool searches both OxIntranet and other University websites, surfacing information in conversational 'chat' form to help you find information more quickly.
Alongside the AI agent, enhanced search functionality (with filter options) has also been introduced across OxIntranet, with capabilities above and beyond that of standard SharePoint Online, improving the discoverability of content.
Why are we doing this, and what’s next?
The migration of the University's digital content to new platforms is part of the Transforming Oxford’s Digital Communications Programme, which is bringing University content together into more consistent and connected platforms.
The remainder of IT and Digital sites will move to OxIntranet and Oxweb over the next couple of months, including:
- Information Security
- Digital Governance Unit (DGU)
- Information & Communications Technology Forum (ICTF)
- User Experience (UX) Centre of Excellence
- Halo (CRM) Programme.
Additional Digital at Oxford content currently hosted on the Staff Gateway will also be moved.
