Deputy Chief Information Officer

The Deputy Chief Information Officer supports the CIO in providing vision and leadership to the development and implementation of IT initiatives across the collegiate University. They will oversee the planning, development and implementation of enterprise IT systems, ensuring they are aligned with University strategy and provide cost-effective and high quality services. The Deputy CIO will have direct responsibility for managing the performance and development of significant units and areas of work, as defined by the CIO. They will deputise for the CIO as required.

As a member of the IT Services senior management team, they will also play a leading role in the development of the department’s future strategic and business plans.

Essential selection criteria

  • Knowledge, intellectual capacity, reasoning and analytical skills equivalent to those of a graduate
  • Strong organisational skills with proven ability to lead an IT services enterprise
  • Proven record of delivering the design, development and management of IT services at a leadership level
  • Demonstrable ability to think and plan strategically and creatively in the development and delivery of IT solutions
  • Significant experience of managing and developing senior IT managers
  • The ability to communicate IT issues effectively, orally and in writing, to senior stakeholders with a wide range of IT knowledge
  • Understanding of emerging infrastructure technologies and their application particularly to shared services
