What is this workshop?

This hands-on workshop explores the basic foundations of generative AI, helping you to navigate its potential and limitations within teaching and learning.

You will explore effective frameworks for assessing the appropriateness of AI tools for various tasks, enhancing your ability to choose suitable technologies for specific needs. Through practical exercises, you will develop skills in crafting clear, specific prompts to engage with generative AI models, facilitating tasks ranging from writing and analysis to coding. The workshop will also highlight successful applications of AI in teaching, providing real-world examples that showcase the integration of AI into educational settings.

Who is the workshop for? 

Oxford teaching and teaching support staff, including course directors, tutors, lecturers, teaching assistants and academic administrators.

What will you do during the workshop?

  • Evaluate the suitability of AI tools for specific teaching and learning tasks
  • Critically assess the outputs generated by popular generative AI models
