Junior Information Security Governance Risk and Compliance Officer

The Junior SGRC Officer has just become vacant and is a great opportunity for someone who has an interest in information security and enjoys working in a varied and fast-paced environment. It is part of the team which has responsibility for the delivery of the governance, risk management and compliance elements of the information security strategy through helping to create information security policies, managing information security risk, providing training and reviewing information security arrangements.

The Junior SGRC Officer will work closely with the rest of the Information Security team and support staff across the University in helping improve information security. The Junior SGRC Officer will deliver training, provide support and advice in implementing information security practices, own the communications plan and will provide administrative support to provide an efficient and effective service to the collegiate University.

Essential selection criteria

  • Understanding of the principles of information security
  • High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to listen, integrate and work effectively as part of a wider team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Experience of administrative processes
  • The ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, and a willingness to resolve situations, as well as knowing when to refer issues to others
  • The ability to organise own workload and to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment to meet overall objectives
  • Ability to use standard computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
